Tightening + Brightening
What We Love About Microneedling
Microneedling is a minimally-invasive procedure that is incredible for rejuvenating your skin. It involves using a device with tiny, shallow needles that create hundreds of micro-wounds on the top layer of your skin, which prompts your body to create more elastin, collagen, and capillaries. As a result, your skin looks and feels more plump, bright, and smooth!
It's great for treating:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Sun damage
- Acne scars
- Stretch marks
- Hair loss
- Dull or tired skin
- Unwanted skin texture
Everything You Need To Know
Does it hurt, and are there any side effects?
You'll be numbed with a topical cream to reduce discomfort. You shouldn't experience any pain!
Because this procedure is minimally invasive, side effects are limited to redness and sensitivity for up to 24 hours.
Potential side effects may include: redness, swelling, burning and skin sensitivity. This could last 1-3 days. If you feel that you are having a problem, please call our office so that we may assist you.
Edema (swelling) is expected immediately post treatment and generally resolves within 24 hours, but can persist longer, there may be some mild to moderate peeling of the skin noticed after the treatment.
Patients may experience a significant redness in the treatment area for up to 3-7 days after treatment. This redness may persist longer in treatment areas other than the face.
As with any treatments, the response, results and healing after a microneedlingtreatment varies with each individual and a specific outcome is not guaranteed.
How long does it take to see results, and how long do they last?
You'll begin to see results 1-2 weeks post-treatment! For deep scarring or lines, we recommend several treatments for optimal results.
Results from treatment are permanent, but don't prevent future aging or damage. We recommend a daily skincare routine to maintain your results long-term.
Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your appointment to fill out any necessary paperwork.
To best prepare for your appointment:
Avoid drinking alcohol or taking blood thinners, fish oils, etc 24-48 hours prior to appointment, if it is okay with your physician to minimize bruising and excess bleeding.
Minimize sun exposure 7 days prior and after appointment.
Stop using chemical exfoliants and retinol 1-3 days prior to your appointment.
If planning to workout, please do so before your appointment as we recommend waiting 24 hours after treatment to workout.
If you're receiving PRF, please make sure to hydrate appropriately 12-24 hours before appointment-this will make the blood draw and results much more successful!
Arrive with clean skin and no makeup. If you are unable to remove makeup prior to your appointment, please arrive 10 minutes early so we can provide you with a cleanser.
Patients should take extra precautions to guard against sun exposure immediately following the procedure, as they may be more sensitive the first 48 hours following the treatment.
It is imperative that you use a mild sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 and avoid any direct sunlight during the course of treatment. To achieve the best results and to protect your skin, sun block is recommended as part of your every day skin care routine.Do not use skin exfoliants or scrubs for 10-14 days after treatment.
No heat exposure (hot tubs, saunas, steam or excessive exercise) for a minimum 48 hours after treatment.
Please clean anything that may come in contact with your face (phones, glasses) with alcohol pads and change your pillowcase tonight. We want to keep your face or treatment area as clean as possible to lessen breakouts.
You should keep your skin free of any makeup or additional products not applied after the treatment for a minimum of 12 hours.
For scalp PRF applications, shampoo and condition your scalp daily starting the first evening or the next morning after PRF. Otherwise, also follow all non- contradictory peri-procedural instructions for micro needling or laser resurfacing, if applicable.
